Hi,
Thanks for so many of you who have been praying for me. I have up and down times each week, but because of the schedule the doctor has had me on, Sundays has been one of my down days, keeping me home. I would like to change the timing a bit so Sundays are available to me. The new chemo treatment I have been on for the past 5 weeks is so far producing the right results. There is a count of what is called M protein which is a byproduct of Myeloma. Over the past few years it was kept at a minimum at 0.1 but began rising over a year ago. 5 weeks ago it reached 3.3 and was rising rapidly at which time I began a newly developed and very expensive oral chemo treatment, ($8,000 for 21 pills) Praise the Lord for insurance. I received the results of last week's test after 4 weeks of treatment and the count has reduced to 2.0. The doctor is very encouraged with this result, but because the chemo is taking a toll on my white count and immunity, he plans to cut me back on my dosages. We rejoice in the good news and God continues to show me and my family his mercies. The next lab results will be about 4 weeks from now. We walk by faith, knowing that God has all these things and us in His hands. How wonderful to walk with Him and to have a living hope, knowing it won't be long for any of us that we will be like Jesus when we see Him face to face.
I just talked with Daniel Turay, our Romans Project coordinator in Sierra Leone, where the team had a conference last Friday. He was very enthusiastic about the conference that was held and said that the 157 in attendance much appreciated it. He said that now he sees pastors and leaders who have received the player walking down the street listing to Scott. All were impressed at how well and clearly Scott teaches the Word and mentioned that this project is really helping many pastors and teachers learn how to study the Word and to teach it. They also took a great lesson from how Rick expounded the Scripture. They had never thought of the benefit of reading a book over and over again. He mentioned that today from the district of Bo, where only one pastor came to the conference, he received the list of 150 pastors and leaders who have gone through the project and now desire to receive their player. I anticipate that this project will continue to grow. We will soon need to find the way to send more players. Praise the Lord.
