Eleven years
Posted by amy in peru at 1/11/2012Dear friends and family,
It is January 11th! Eleven years ago yesterday we arrived in Peru! Amy and I were 23 and 24 years old, we had 2 little kids, we knew very little Spanish and knew nothing about missions. Now we are slightly older, we have a few more kids, we've picked up a bit of Spanish and we have learned a tad more about missions. We have lived and worked in the mountains, on the coast and in the jungle regions of Peru. God has taught us many things through many experiences as we have tried to be a witness for Christ in this great land of the Incas.
We have been so blessed by the many unique opportunities that God has given us. Over the years I have been able to preach the gospel in our home, in churches, in jails, in orphanages, in hospitals, in universities, in buses, in primitive villages, in the inner city, on the streets, on the trails, on boats, on the radio, standing in rivers, and standing on mountain tops. There is nothing more exciting than trying to win souls and make God's name great among the nations!
While my life these past 11 years has been full of public ministry Amy has been behind the scenes supporting me and keeping our family sane:) She has, and continues to, nurture and educate our big family while investing immeasurably in the next generation. I am so blessed to have married a woman that has embraced the high calling and ministry of being a wife and mother! There aren't many of those left today.
God has blessed us and provided for us in so many ways. We are so thankful to Him for the life that He has given us and we want to make the most of it for His glory. “Only one life to live, soon twill pass, only what's done for Christ will last.”
Micah, for the Tuttle's
